I do and I understand.

                        (Chinese proverb)

This is what exactly I am expirencing these day. Before joining Kathmandu University for my PGD I was all confused and focusless regarding education and life itself. Due to my own personal problems I was not so serious regarding my career.Maybe I was too carefree in my attitude and easygoing kind of person. During Pandamic second lock down- June 2021, I was diagonised Ovarian cancer (advanced stage) which came as a shock to me and my entire family. But by the immense grace of the almighty I fought and won the battle with all the love, care, prayer, support and help from my beloved family, friends and well wishers.

On July 2022 , one fine day when I happened to come to KU for my daughter,s admission in M.ED,  I went  through the programs that Eduaction facaulty offered which facinated me and made up my mind there and then to join and persue my studies  a liltle further.I have been  helping in the school run by my family where I lookafter the admin section since more than  two decades.Eventhough I have  had  the experience I always feel like something is amiss somewhere Being computer illiterate it is even more challenging for me .So I felt this course will surely be helpful in overcoming my fears and challenges in the future.

After my enrollment in PGD in STEAM education I was even more anxious and scared to the point what my collegues would say ?and moreover I have recently developed a habbit of forgetting .I still took this challenge thinking the more I say I can't I will not be able to do and I may stop trying eventually.I gathered all my guts and joined.

First few classes were totally new for me especially ICT...as it is the most difficult one for me.To tell you frankly I need to learn a lot to handle ICT in the long run.Other than ITC ,Philosophy being theoritical and having heard of the subject i do not have any issues .Change is inevitable...using logical and critical thinking are  the core words in Philosophy .another subject Pedagogy in STEAM education was a very new subject which i had no clue of.But after attending the session I found it very interesting. The word Pedagogy is used for children and are guided by the teachers .Where as Andagogy is used for adult and they are self initiated /self motivated. Resource Material Development in STEAM ed is also very interesting subject which i had never come across. This helps a lot in teaching in progressive approach.Last but not the least Curriculum in STEAM Ed is one of the coe subject one needs to learn in which I had no clue .In our times  I had heard the word in extra curricular activities.New termology was introduced to us like- Integrated curriculum,Progressive learning .

For few weeks it was quite difficult for us to understand the new way of teaching and the new termologies as well. Now a days the whole world is on the tip of our fingers  esp with the ICT mode we are learning a lot of teaching and learning techniques. In this 21st century the mode of ICT has been very useful in all the context all over the world. ICT plays the vital role in STEAM education.

I can now reflect the day I joined the orientation class  how i was feeling  and now having  had the expirence of learning and teaching  all these months my confidence level has improved. Now i can have a logical dialogue with reasoning and convince the teachers students and the parents without hassles. Knowing the importance of ICT I am proud to say that I could convince the board members ( Administration) of our school to introduce coding classes in grades 4/5 recently. My vision toward STEAM approach has widen and by the end of our course I hope we will be able to apply STEAM Eduaction in institution where we work.

So far my experiantional journey has undergone some teething problems but I am pretty sure that I will benifit by the end of this course.
