Guest lecturer

You're learning from a guest lecturer.

An academic professional lectures who visits at an academic institution on invitation for a lecture or in other words a lecturer who is invited by the academic institution where he does not work. as permanent lectured too to." deliver or share his knowledge & experiences to the students is an invited lectures. He/she is also known as a guest lecturer.

→ Mr. Sushil Upreti, our guest lecturer gave a lot of insight is ICT. To name a few he made us clear

"How we can blend and what is Blended learning.

• How our, learners (students) can be benefitted by ICT.

 What is ICT pedagogy

He gave a clear idea how conventional learning and online learning integrate to form Blended learning. According to survey he even informed us that we follow

48.1% Blended learning

11:4%  On line learning

 40.5% Conventional learning

After the hit of pandemic Cavid-19, we learned to bring change in our system. We realized that we do not have control over time, place and pace so there should be a room for flexibility.

Blended learning is very important according to my knowledge as it personalized the learning. Blended learning helps students to socialize and interact with their peers and teachers altogether. The most important factor in Blended learning is teachers can reach out to disengaged students, students who are enactive during online classes. Time flexibility too helps in active participation among the pupils. Students are focused in IT knowledge and develop collaborative skills as well. B-learning helps students in better learning, construct their activities and think critically all together.  To find out how much they (students) have learned it is very definitely trouble-free for the teachers for assessment.

We learnt about the differences between Synchronous and Asynchronous learning. In synchronous learning a group of students are engaged in learning at the same time (Virtual/on line or physical/offline) as in Zoom / Google meet. Where as in asynchronous learning, students refer at their own pace & time with each other over the longer period of time via Module and accessing materials.

The most beneficial part shared was that he showed ample of  of opportunities and challenges that we could  undertake with the help of various tools and resources in the process of learning and teaching  for eg. Flipped learning, image tools etc

We were enlightened that time plays a vital role and it is the major factor in this era Short videos which are to the point  or say which  which is less than 8 sec. are viewed ,shared  followed and liked by all. As students these days do not have patience - Concepts like Micro Learning has been highly popular and recommended such as:

·         Self paced course.

·         Fundamental Training

·         Digital Story Telling.

·         Royalty Free Audio / Video.

·         Digital  Library.

As a result we got much knowledge and insight by our guest lecture. I really feel grateful to our facilitator Mr. Niroj Dahal for inviting him.
